Spring & Fall Cleanup

Residential Spring Curbside Clean-Up Week

Residential Spring Curbside Clean-Up Week is reviewed annually by Council during budget deliberations. If approved, the event provides residents with an opportunity for spring cleaning. During this event, the municipality offers a curbside pickup for bulky wastes and the landfill offers free tipping for those residents who prefer to drop off their waste. Additionally, the landfill extends its weekend hours to accommodate the residents.

Landfill Free Tipping Fee Events

The purpose of this event is to provide Kirkland Lake residents with an opportunity for spring and/or fall cleaning. The spring event typically occurs in May and the fall event occurs at the end of September or early October. Landfill attendants will be checking for proof of residency at the gate.

In order to reduce landfill costs, we ask that debris be separated as follows: wood products, metal products, tires, electronics and remaining debris. Freon containing appliances (such as refrigerators, freezers, water coolers and air conditioners) can be accepted but require a processing charge, unless the unit arrives tagged indicating the gas has already been removed.
