Local Done Right - Our vendors produce their products in Timiskaming District, which in turn supports our regional economy. The food at the market is local, grown using methods that minimize negative impacts on the earth through the use of ecologically friendly techniques.

Table Fresh - This is the produce that comes from the land in our area, cultivated by the farmers you'll meet here. This is the most delicious and nutritious bounty you can find.

Family Friendly - The market is full of family friendly activities including food demonstrations, samples, and entertainers.

Vendors Rules 2020

  1. The KL Food Market is managed by the Town of Kirkland Lake. The Town of Kirkland Lake will approve vendors, enforce rules/regulations, approve vendor assignments, promote the market and have designated employee(s) present on each Market day.

  2. Vendors will be required to complete a Kirkland Lake Food Market Application. If approved, vendors must produce proof of Temiskaming Health Unit Approval to confirm participation in the Market. Each vendor is responsible for seeking out and complying with all Temiskaming Health Unit regulations for their Special Food Event Permit.

  3. The Kirkland Lake Food Market invites vendors who sell their own farmed/gardened goods and/or foods they have produced to apply. Preference will be given to local products/producers. Non-local vendors (those who are not Kirkland Lake taxpayers) will be considered. The Town of Kirkland Lake reserves the right to select and approve applicants. While the Market becomes established there may be limits on types of products offered. All products must be approved by the Town of Kirkland Lake and the Temiskaming Health Unit.

  4. The cost to be a vendor is based on a per-season or per-week category and whether the vendor is a Kirkland Lake Taxpayer or not. For current rates, please refer to the KL Food Market Application. (link to the current year's application)

  5. Application fees may be paid by cheque, credit card or cash. Cheques are payable to: 'Town of Kirkland Lake'

    • Seasonal vendors must be paid in full on or before the first Market day of the season.
